Material used should be based on the N.D.C.A. approved Syllabi. Please note new NDCA restrictions in American style (www.ndca.org). |

Closed events are restricted to syllabus. There are no syllabus restrictions in open events. |

Competitors are allowed to dance two age categories and three consecutive levels in both closed and open categories. |
| 4. |
A Newcomer is someone who has had up to 50 lessons of instruction. |
| 5. |
Two (2) amateurs dancing together can dance two (2) entries in Solo Exhibitions plus two (2) in Pro/Am. |
| 6. |
Only two (2) entries per student in Pro/Am Solo Exhibitions. |
| 7. |
No Solo Exhibition is to exceed three minutes (3) or music will be faded. |
| 8. |
All Solo Exhibition music must be on individual labeled discs. |

No continuity style in Closed Bronze Division. |
| 10. |
Formations are limited to three (3) minutes for a single dance and four (4) minutes for a medley. |

There is no limit to the number of entries a student can have in Pro/Am 1-Dance Events. |

Drops are allowed only on Gold & Advanced level 1-Dance Events. This includes any type of leaning line. Drops can also be done in all levels of Solo Exhibition. |

Scholarship categories are open to all competitors who have a minimum of four (4) program entries in appropriate categories. |

The organizers reserve the right to merge or cancel any categories. Scholarship categories require a minimum of four (4) couples or 1st place monies will be halved. |

If dancing in Newcomer and pre-bronze, please be ready for quick change. |
| 16. |
Dress Code: Newcomer Pro/Am levels - eveningwear is suggested (Cocktail dresses for ladies, and jackets or vest for gents). Costumes for professionals only in Newcomer, all other levels costumes are permitted. |

An Invigilator will be used for closed categories. These categories will be strictly supervised and competitors committing infractions will be disqualified. |

All persons attending this event whether as spectators, officials, competitors, or guests of the Organizers shall be bound by the N.D.C.A. rules and by participating in the Empire State Dance Sport Championship automatically become obligated to adhere to it. |

A 2008 N.D.C.A. registration is required before competition numbers will be issued. |

No responsibility for loss or theft of articles left in changing rooms, ballrooms, or hotel rooms can be accepted by Organizers or the N.D.C.A. Neither can be held liable for injury sustained by persons attending the Empire State Dance Sports Championships. |

For your convenience the Organizers have hired a Professional Video Company. No private Video Equipment will be allowed in the Ballroom. Thank you for your cooperation. |

We will consider that everyone who attends this event has consented to the use and release of any video or pictures or names of those spectators, contestants, or persons participating in the floor shows may appear on television or in any of the tapes for sale. |
| Payment Policy |
| All entry forms must be post marked and fees paid in full by July 21, 2008 or a late fee of $20.00 per person must be added. Payments made before July 21 can be made by cash, check, Visa, or MasterCard. Payments made after deadline must be in the form of cashiers check, certified check, money order, or cash. No business or personal checks will be accepted after this date or on the day of the competition. Early Bird deadline is July 14, 2008. All entries must be received and paid for by this deadline to receive the discount. All remittance should be made payable to:

| Refund Policy |
No refunds will be made for cancellations received after the deadline. Cancellations taken at the event cannot be substituted for other entries, and no refunds will be made on such cancellations. Any refunds due which meet the deadline will be made thirty (30) days following the competition weekend and will be subject to a $50.00 processing fee. |
