Rules & Regulations

Qualifications for Top Teacher Awards

• Top Teacher will be based upon the number of adult Pro/Am entries received and danced (Junior entries will only count toward the Top Junior Teacher Trophy).

• All entries and fees must be received before the deadline of July 29, 2011.

• In the event of a tie for first place, the sum of the 1st and 2nd place awards will be split equally.  This also applies to all other placements.

Top Teacher Point System

Solo Exhibitions    1 Point per Entry

Pro-Am 1,2, & 3 Dance Events    1 Point per Entry

1st Place 8 Points

2nd Place 7 Points

3rd Place 6 Points

4th Place 5 Points

5th Place 4 Points

6th Place 3 Points

7th Place 2 Points

8th Place 1 Point

1 Point for each recall from preliminary rounds

Pro-Am 4 & 5 Dance Multi-Dance Events    5 Points per Entry

1st Place 16 Points

2nd Place 14 Points

3rd Place 12 Points

4th Place 10 Points

5th Place 8 Points

6th Place 6 Points

7th Place 4 Points

8th Place 2 Points

2 Points for each recall from preliminary rounds

Student point system will be based on the same point system as the Top Teacher.

Top Students must be on a package.

Top Studio Awards

A special and distinctive EMPIRE STATE DANCESPORT CHAMPIONSHIPS trophy will be awarded to the top studio in the following categories:

Small Studio:

Minimum of three (3) competing students

Medium Studio:

Minimum of six (6) competing students

Large Studio:

Minimum of eight (8) competing students

Studios’ Broadway Spectacular

Have your studio dance on Broadway performing a number from a Broadway show.

May include up to 30% professionals.

Payment Policy

All entry forms must be postmarked and fees paid in full by July 29, 2011 or a late fee of $20.00

per person must be added. Payments made before July 29, can be made by cash, check, Visa,

and MasterCard. Payments made after deadline must be in the form of cashier’s check, certified

check, money order, or cash. No business or personal checks will be accepted after this date or

on the day of the competition.

Early Bird deadline is July 8, 2011. All entries must be received and paid for

by this deadline to receive the discount.

Refund Policy

 No refunds will be made for cancellations received after the deadline. Cancellations taken at

the event cannot be substituted for other entries and no refunds will be made on such

cancellations.

Any refunds due which meet the deadline will be made thirty (30) days following the competition

weekend and will be subject to a $50.00 processing fee.
